A previously unseen picture of Queen Elizabeth II with her grandkids and great-grandchildren was made public by Kensington Palace to mark her 97th birthday. On the day that would have been Her Majesty's 97th birthday, Kensington Palace unveiled an unseen image of Queen Elizabeth II.

A few weeks before Britain and the Commonwealth lost their Queen, the Princess of Wales took this image of the monarch in Balmoral in August. Some of Her Majesty's cherished grandkids and great-grandchildren are gathered around her. With Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor, James, Earl of Wessex, Lena Tindall, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Isla Phillips, Prince Louis, Mia, Lucas, and Savannah Phillips, she seemed to be in her element.

On September 8, a few weeks later, her Majesty passed away at Balmoral in peace. During the annual family reunion in August, just before the Queen passed away, enthusiastic amateur photographer Kate took the spontaneous portrait at the palace. At the time of her passing, Queen Elizabeth had eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

The Royal Family remembered the incredible life and legacy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II today on what would have been her 97th birthday by posting a picture of the monarch in her official capacity along with the message: "Today we remember the incredible life and legacy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away peacefully after celebrating her Platinum Jubilee."

Queen Elizabeth II's name will continue to linger for a long while both within the United Kingdom and outside of it.
